Sandburg says it Best

I suppose we all read this one, at some time during our school years.  There is something to be said though, for rising at 6:30 a.m. and living it.

Fog
Carl Sandburg - 1878-1967

The fog comes
on little cat feet

 It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
until it moves on.

  2. He proved that simple words say it best.. Love that....little cat feet. And nice spider web. Sure hate to walk through one, though. Winter cometh.

  4. I LOVE this poem. I LOVE your pictures. As a matter of fact, it's foggy today where I am. Of course, I don't have a dory in front of my house, but the soy bean fields are popping with dew and there's deer on the tree line.

  5. Why yes it does! I remember this poem - here's one back at you :

    The Red Wheelbarrow
    by William Carlos Williams

    so much depends
    upon
    a red wheel
    barrow

    glazed with rain
    water

    beside the white
    chickens.

  6. How timely since we have had so many foggy days lately. Here's to wishing the fog will soon lift.

  7. Beautiful words and excellent pics. You rock, Liza. I am jealous of your photographer's eye. :-)

Carl Sandburg's home is a 30 minute drive from me. He was awesome.

  8. Darn it, we don't see much in the way of fog in landlocked Atlanta, but where I grew up, we were shrouded in it quite frequently, and I really miss it. Thanks for posting the super foggy pics and my favorite foggy poem.
