Permutations

First the DVD player was broken, but then it wasn't. Then the (good) camera was broken, and then it wasn't. I took the laptop to the library and lost the piece to the universal adapter that lets you plug it in. Two return trips, several hours and many hairs pulled out later, a man found it on a window sill.

For the first time in my volunteering experience, one of our regular seniors has left us forever. His wife put a bag on the chair he used to sit in to occupy his empty seat.

Yesterday, I applied for an hourly job...but think they will feel I am too old, too experienced, too inexperienced, too something. Last night I dreamed I was offered a a position in my former profession, 60 miles and an appalling commute away. This was fine because in the dream we lived closer. I woke up remembering we don’t.

Giving thanks for all that is good; I’m taking a big breath here and calling it a week.

Happy Weekend.

I hope you get the job you applied for - and that you enjoy it. Applying and waiting are stressful.

Beautiful picture.

Hang in there. :)

What a week! Hope next week has a very low stress level. I'm pulling for you.

This is called stress overload. I only know this because I have experienced it first-hand. The good news is that comes and then it goes. The bad news is that goes and then it comes.

I read somewhere that next week is a low stress week. Or maybe that was lower humidity. Whichever...

Your week will be way better!

I got my book!!!! YEAAAH! It arrived in the mail on Friday. so thank you so much for that! It is amazing. I just finished reading FEARLESS by Max Lucado and now I am reading THE COURAGE TO WRITE. You think someone might be trying to tell me something? :)

I was just playing "catch up" on my blog reading after a busy week so I read a few of your posts all at once. And then this one.

So, let me remind you of what you wrote a few days ago - all the potential of the word "yet" (I'm sure you said it much nicer than that but that was the gist of it).

So, clearly this week was rather pitiful...

...yet, Monday a new week begins.

And yes, you have a bizarre squawking noise waking you up every morning at some ungodly hour...

...yet, the suspense of what/who this mysterious neighbour will turn out to be has got to be worth at least a little bit of the aggravation.

Finally, your silly camera managed to get itself out of it's rightful setting of "automatic, don't mess with me"...

...yet, you managed to describe in delightful detail the pictures you wanted to take.

I'm taking a big breath along with you and hoping we all have a beautiful week ahead full of "yets" that will keep us going!

Got the book from your un-contest!! It looks great!! Thank you so much! And sometimes when things happen, they all happen at once, don't they. I like it much better when it's GOOD things that are happening in succession, rather than discouraging. Hope this week goes better!

I feel like I am going through the same thing. I hope you find something that helps. The decisions I have to make, are not ones I want to.. but know I have to.

Glad those things worked out in the end. I left my wife's Bible on a chair during a conference Saturday night. Fortunately we found it Sunday night in lost and found. Then I left it in the kids room while picking up the kids. Someone retrieved it and gave it to my wife. Twice lost. Twice found during the same wekend.

I hope your weekend was better than the end of the week, and that the trend continues into this one!

Thinking of you!
