A Need

I don't do this often.  In regards to blogging, in some strange way, even though it's all out there, I tend to keep things close to the vest.  I write, I read blogs, I follow, I comment, but I'm not into the big splash of contests and awards and prizes.  Not that I mind those who are, it's just not me.  So as you read this, please know that I'm writing these words because in this case, I embrace the assistance this social networking or what ever it is, can offer.

Over the two years plus since I started Middle Passages, I've "met" so many people I admire, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that some are more special than others.  We all click with different people.  In my case, Carolina Valdez Miller has been a regular champion.  She's an astounding writer who has offered me such insight and encouragement.  She sits at the top of the list of people I'd like to emulate--in my writing sure, and now in a more giving manner.

I'm not going to say much more.  Instead, I'm going ask you to click here so you may read Carol's words yourself.  If you can help--wonderful. If not, you'll find some amazing and passionate writing, and your day will be better for it.

I can't tell you how much this means to me. Well, I'm trying, I mean, but I can't seem to find the words. It's just "thank you" feels so inadequate. I feel so inadequate, actually. Like for what you're saying. I would say the very same things about you, and feel like you are much more worthy of those words.

But, as inadequate as it might be...thank you. I'm truly, deep-down-inside touched.

I'm with you on the contests, blogfests etc. I've done some of it but avoid them all now, and unfortunately more and more blogs are full of it. I love the thoughtful post that comes from the heart. These are the blogs I gravitate toward, and now to go read Caroline's post.

I stopped here this morning and went straight to Carolina's. Then I forgot to come back here. She's doing a great thing. And you, too.

It is a wonderful thing she is doing. People will remember her long after she is gone.

Liza,

Bless you for doing this. Not only are you helping a friend, but you're doing so much to help these precious kids who need so much.

I stopped by and donated what I could. Just wish it could have been more. I'm glad you introduced us to Caroline. She's quite a lady. (and so are you!)

Have a blessed weekend, my friend.

I'm not in for contests, big splashes, and awards either. But, like you, I have made many friends I admire since April of 2010 when I began blogging. I'm now going to go and meet your friend Carol.

Thanks for the tip - I'll click over right now.

I enjoy blogfests and such, but I'm not so into the contests and giveaways either.

Wow. I have to admire her for being willing to go over and help Haiti-- those people have had it rough there.
