Enticement

During a winter in which we’ve barely seen snow, March blew in with a roar.  I caught the tail end of it on my way to an appointment this morning. Usually I scoff when people talk about dry heat being easier to bear than moist heat.  In my mind, hot is hot.  But if I had any skepticism about applying the parallel to cold, my gloveless two minutes in front of foaming ocean today convinced me otherwise.  My hands turned as white as the froth churning up from the angry sea, and stayed that way for a long time.

That didn’t stop me from taking advantage of another photo opportunity on my way home.  Why is it, that something so damp and grey and angry and unforgiving always lures me with its beauty?

Enjoy your weekend folks!

Wow, is that frozen? Incredible!
And I've lived in many climates. I'll take dry heat over humidity any day of the week.

Hi Liza
I'm trying to get back in the swing of blogging after a long illness.

That picture captures it all. I love it. We are dry in Colorado. I've been here so long I think any humidity would do me in.

I want to be right there, clothed in several layers, and wrapped in a parka. I am in love with your beach :)

Happy Weekend!

Beautiful. How I miss the beaches there! And your header pic always makes me think of the North River.

It doesn't look angry to me. It looks beautiful. What a shot. There is something subliminally alive, just waiting...

Wow, what a difference the snow makes. I have similar shots but no snow and boy is that a difference. In our household snow is a bad four letter word. We are just so done being in the cold/damp/grey northwest. But thanks for this beautiful image. Just goes to show there is beauty everywhere if you look for it.

I remember walking the dogs on days like that. Not fun. But I'll tell you what, I'd do it all over again for 5 minutes on the beach.

Yep, here too - just a bit to the north! We finally got snow...but yesterday we got rain and now it is little ice puddles. I LOVE this picture - a truly great shot - it has everything going for it. Good on ya!

Really beautiful shot! I'm not used to seeing snow on the dunes like that. Makes it seem kind of haunting and magical. Thanks for sharing it!

Such a contrast: a frozen beach.
