August 15, 2011

When I popped in one of our few home videos this morning and the laughing face of our daughter at age two filled the screen, it became even harder to believe that today is her eighteenth birthday.  In the day- to-day, it never felt like things were moving that fast.  Now though, it is as if the last eighteen years lasted no longer than a blink.

Happy birthday sweet girl.  Thank you for all the joy you continue to bring us.

Happy birthday to your daughter? Where the heck does the time go?

It really does go by in a flash, doesn't it?

Oh my yes, my youngest grandchild turned seven today. Seven! On the other hand, my step-dot is just sixteen and so my muddled generations of kids, step-kids,and grand-kids means that sometimes time is speeding by and sometimes it is winding back-up for another throw.

Happy Birthday to your girl. It's the kids that get older, not us, right? One day the realization came to my mother when she said, "My god! I have middle-aged daughters!"

18?! What an amazing and fun start to life for her. Really all the fun memories and love that you have given to her is her foundation. It all starts here and now!
BTW, I think we must be related in some way. I look so very much like your daughter, it is uncanny...
