My sister-in-law made me a hand-made book journal for
Christmas last year and I set a goal at the beginning of 2013 to see if I could
read fifty-two books in fifty-two weeks. This year offered up a fair share of struggles.
Burying my head in a book has always provided an escape. Fifty-three books later, Happy New Year, (and

You did it plus one! Congratulations. Going to do it again next year?
Happy New Year, Liza.
You read a lot of books!
Fair play to you!
A few nice ones in there too! I re-read Pride and Prejudice, also Sense and Sensibility, Austen is an amazing writer, I can go back to her again and again.
Happy 2014!
I keep a book journal too and there are so many books on my TBR list I don't try to count them. Hope 2014 is wonderful for you.
This is a great idea. I recall when you got this gift last year and I thought to myself, "Self, you should do this, too." Well, we were still getting settled in the new house and it just did not come to pass. So, now I am thinking again, "Self, you should do this for 2014." It would be interesting to keep up with this every year.
Congrats on making your goal!
Color me green. Guess how many books I read last year. None. Zero. Zilch.
I can't believe I didn't read anything. And believe me, my TBR pile is mountainous.
Let's hope I get some time on the beach this summer.
Oh by the way, I'll be up your way in July and August. We'll have to get together. If you want to.
Amazing! The only ones I've read are by Jane Austen! My personal goal is to read 52 books in a year, but I'm such a slow reader... I've made it into the 40s but never cracked 50. Maybe this year. :)
Looks like some good ones in there! Especially the first ;)
