It is a picture post Monday...while I try to find words for IWSG Wednesday. I'm still trying to work out the settings on the new camera...but you'll get the gist. Every once in a while, an unexpected day arrives along with an unplanned opportunity, one during which, I inhale and say, "I am SO blessed. This was one. A trip to the Cape. I packed a bag and hopped into the car less than thirty minutes after the invitation was issued. No agenda. Just the camera, and going with the flow.

Seals and seagulls waiting for the fishermen to arrive. |

An Osprey. Also known as a fish eagle, sea hawk, river hawk, or fish hawk. My first.

|
Kite surfing on Cape Cod Bay. I've heard of it, but never seen it. |
|
Kite surfing at Monomoy National Wildlife Preserve. Believe it or not...the picture doesn't do it justice. |

And then there's the picture I didn't get. On our way home, rounding a curve on the entrance to the highway. A full moon rising orange in front of us, and a firework chrysanthemum, exploding blue and purple beside it. Oh, my! In my last post, I wrote about life being in the details.
That was another one.

Stunning photos! We have ospreys here but I've never seen a seal. Not on the East Coast anyway.
I bet kite surfing is exhausting.
There is a barrier beach on this section of the Cape that the seals populate, as well as Great White sharks who like to snack on them. We stayed away from that area.
Ah, the Cape. I have lots of memories from living there. Especially the beaches. *sigh* So glad you had a lovely day :)
That last kite surfing pic is gorgeous!
Kite surfing is popular in the Caribbean, but the expansiveness of the last picture... well I've never seen anything like it. Beautiful. The seal and gull waiting, that was very cool.
I want to come home.
superb photos. Love the osprey action shot. Oh I yearn for the beach, but at least I could visit vicariously through your lens. Thank you
The pictures are great. I watched some kite surfing at the beach this past weekend and it was amazing. It looks so fun and challenging especially in the beautiful settings you shared.

Fantastic pictures! I especially love the one of the osprey - they have such a fierce expression on their face.
New camera? What kind? (I know, I'm nosy)
What wonderfully fantastic pictures. I couldn't even focus on the blue moon this week. Once in a while I accidentally get a good picture. These are perfect!
Wow! What wonderful pictures. They really do make me "wish I were there"...
I'm blown away. These photos are wonderful. Your camera has a talented person behind it. I love watching kite surfers - especially when they come out of the water.
Wonderful post, Liza! I really love your photos.
